Seeking Rutgers Students to Work with Camden Youth & Teens

The Office of Civic Engagement seeks Rutgers students to serve as education ambassadors and club facilitators for its education outreach programs.

Paid positions for the Fall semester include:

Education Ambassador: Work directly with Camden City youth and teens to improve their academic and social skills in order to attain greater educational opportunities. Education Ambassadors:

  • Deliver college preparatory, leadership, career, and cultural enrichment workshops as members of the Hill Family Center for College Access
  • Serve as assistant teachers in Ignite, an extended day program for North Camden youth in 4th – 8th grades.
  • Provide tutoring, enrichment, and mentoring to Camden teens in the Rutgers Future Scholars program.

Club Facilitator: Plan and implement clubs in the Ignite program following a project based learning format, which requires inquiry based learning and student projects to be shared at a family showcase at the end of the semester.
